NEW YORK: Comedy Central has ordered 10 episodes of Brickleberry, a new animated series that will be executive produced by Tosh.0‘s Daniel Tosh, who will also voice a character.

Production on the series is set to commence this fall with the premiere expected for early 2012. It is co-produced by Fox 21 and Comedy Central and is written and created by Waco O’Guin and Roger Black, who executive produce along with Tosh. The story features a group of dysfunctional forest rangers at a national park.

"Daniel Tosh pointed a gun at our heads and asked if we would put this series on the air, and we agreed that would be a good idea," said Kent Alterman, the head of original programming and production at Comedy Central. "It’s a bonus that it’s so funny."

"This series has been a passion project for our company and we believe we’ve found the perfect home for it at Comedy Central," said Bert Salke, the president of Fox 21. "Kent and his team immediately got the genius of Daniel, Waco and Roger’s twisted vision and, as they’ve shown with Tosh.0, no one programs twisted and funny better than they do."
