TORONTO: CTV has acquired the rights to The Voice, the new format-based talent show that John de Mol and Mark Burnett are exec-producing for NBC.

The show, based on Talpa’s The Voice of Holland series, will be hosted by Carson Daly and feature celebrity coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and country star Blake Shelton. CTV will simulcast the 13-episode U.S. version beginning April 26.

The Voice has it all: pedigree, concept, star-power and production value,” said Mike Cosentino, the senior VP of programming at CTV Networks. “It is perfectly cast and has the potential to instantly become water-cooler viewing not only for CTV, but for MUCHMUSIC and E! as well. And with a series footprint that stretches through June, it also delivers fresh and engaging programming well into the summer.”
