Crackle.com Gets New Live-Action Series

SAN DIEGO, July 24: Writer
Ed Brubaker and White Rock Lake Productions have teamed up to produce Angle
of Death, a new live-action series
for Crackle.com, Sony Pictures Entertainment’s online video network.

Zoe Bell (Death Proof, Double Dare) will play the lead character in the series—a remorseless
assassin employed by a ruthless crime family. After suffering a head wound, she
becomes haunted by her victims and decides to kill the people who ordered the
hits. Premiering in 2009, the eight- to ten-minute episode will be released
over ten weeks.

Brubaker, the creator and
writer of Angle of Death, is an
Eisner Award-winning writer best known for his work in comics, including The
Death of Captain America, Batman, Criminal and The Authority. Angel
of Death will be produced by John
Norris and directed by Paul Etheredge. The series is produced by White Rock
Lake Productions and will be distributed by Sony Pictures Television.

feel about having a project I wrote actually being filmed, which is huge for
any writer, I’m just as thrilled about having Zoe Bell signed on to star in Angel
of Death,” Brubaker said. “And
working with Crackle and Sony Pictures Television to give viewers instant
access to the series online is completely overwhelming.”
