Cosmopolitan TV Set for February Launch in Canada

TORONTO, January 15:
Cosmopolitan Television expands its reach into Canada next month in an alliance
between Hearst Corporation and Corus Entertainment.

The channel, based on the
bestselling women’s magazine, is slated to launch in Canada on February 14,
joining existing Cosmopolitan Television networks in Spain and Latin America.

“There is a lot of
excitement about the launch of CosmoTV—this is the first English-language
version of the channel in the world and we’re thrilled that we’re offering it
to Canadian women,” said Susan Ross, the executive VP and general manager for
lifestyle, drama and movies at Corus Entertainment. “Cosmo is an iconic brand,
one that really resonates with young women. And with Corus’ long standing
experience in women’s specialty television—right out of the gate we have
a good head start at making this a success.”

Targeting women 18-34,
CosmoTV programming includes comedies, dramas and relationship and reality
programming. On the slate are Oh So Cosmo, Sex and the City, The
Bachelor
, The Agency and Dirty Cows, among others.

Cosmopolitan TV will be
available to all Bell ExpressVu customers beginning February 14, and other
