Cookie Jar Hires Showrunner for Mudpit

BURBANK: Bruce Kalish is to serve as showrunner for Cookie Jar Entertainment’s new series Mudpit, produced by the company’s teen and adult label, The Jar.

Production will begin in April on 26 episodes of the live-action/animated hybrid. The show revolves around four teens who form a virtual band.

Kalish most recently created, wrote and executive produced Disney XD’s first live-action series, Aaron Stone. He also produced the hit series The Fall Guy and was executive producer on Disney Channel’s The Famous Jett Jackson and The Famous Jett Jackson Movie. He  previously served as executive producer, showrunner and writer for Power Rangers.

“Bruce has created and produced a wide range of popular series for major U.S. networks,” said Tom Mazza, the executive VP and head of worldwide TV. “His experience and understanding of what it takes to create a hit show will be invaluable in making Mudpit a success.”
