Come Dine with Me Heads to Canada

TORONTO: The ITV Studios format Come Dine with Me is being produced in Canada by Proper Television for W Network, which is also currently airing the British version of the show.

Filming is set to take place this summer, with a fall launch slated on W Network. The format follows five amateur chefs who compete for the title of ultimate dinner-party host. Each night for a week the competitors take turns executing their idea of the perfect evening and their hosting performance is rating by the other challengers. The winner will also receive a cash prize.

"When we introduced Come Dine with Me (U.K. format) into the W Network schedule earlier this year, it quickly gained a strong and loyal audience following," said Joanna Webb, the VP of programming at W Network. "We look forward to producing the Canadian version of this international hit with Proper Television, and know that our viewers will love following these Canadian amateur chefs as they attempt to out-cook and out-host their competition."

"I’m a huge fan of the show and so I’m delighted to have an opportunity to do a Canadian version," commented Guy O’Sullivan, the president of Proper Television. "Come Dine with Me is that perfect blend of hit-and-miss cooking mixed with compelling characters in fierce competition with one another, and we’re determined to give the U.K. version a run for its money."
