Comcast Reshuffles Programming, Content Acquisition Personnel

PHILADELPHIA, July 12:
Jeff Shell, the president of Comcast’s programming group, and Matt Bond, the
executive VP of the cable giant’s content acquisition group, have announced a
series of promotions and expansion of duties within their respective divisions.

Within the programming
group, Bill Bridgen will move to the Comcast SportsNet after having served as
the executive VP of network distribution. Reporting to SportsNet’s president,
Jon Litner, Bridgen will be responsible for developing the company’s expanding
roster of regional sports networks. His role as executive VP of network
distribution will be filled by Alan Dannenbaum, formerly senior VP of content
acquisition. Dannenbaum will oversee the distribution team for the company's
programming entities, including E! Entertainment Television, Style Network, The
Golf Channel, VERSUS, G4, AZN Television, PBS KIDS Sprout, FEARnet, ExerciseTV
and the regional Comcast SportsNets. He reports to Shell.

Also within the
programming group, Earl Marshall will take over as VP of business development,
where he will aid in developing the expansion of the network’s properties and
evaluate new media possibilities. He will report to Joe Donnelly, the CFO of
the programming group.

At the content acquisition
group, Jennifer Gaiski and Allan Singer have both been named senior VP of
content acquisition. Gaiski previously served as VP. Her responsibilities will
continue to include coordinating Comcast’s nationwide field operations and
financial commitments, administering programming contracts, and managing
programming for Comcast’s partnership properties. Singer will take over
Dannenbaum’s former licensing duties. Additionally, Matthew Strauss has been
promoted from senior VP of content acquisition and development to senior VP of new
media. Developing content for Comcast’s Internet properties has been added to
his previous duties of development and acquisition of non-linear video
programming services. He will continue to report to Bond.
