LONDON: Tiny Island Productions and Classic Media will present the new series Dream Defenders, available in both non-stereoscopic 3D and stereoscopic 3D formats, at MIPCOM.

Dream Defenders is aimed at 6- to 9-year-olds. Tiny Island will distribute the show in North America and Asia, while Classic handles distribution across all media in all other territories worldwide. The series follows two twin rivals who are the last line of defense between the Real World and the nightmare creatures of the Dream Worlds. The show is based on an original concept by Tiny Island Productions, and will be produced at the Singapore-based studio with a writing team out of Los Angeles. The series is set for delivery in late 2011.

David Kwok, the managing director of Tiny Island Productions, commented: “We are very excited to announce the launch of our new series as part of the lineup for this MIPCOM. Audiences can look forward to spectacular action and adventures set in fantasy or hyper-reality dream worlds. It’s going to be very different visually from other shows out there right now on the TV screens with cool and sleek gadgets and interesting character designs. Characters are smart and funny, with situational comedy weaved into the more intense parts of the stories.”

Chloe Van den Berg, the executive VP of international at Classic Media, added: “We are thrilled to unveil Dream Defenders to buyers at MIPCOM and to be working with such premium production partners as Tiny Island. Dream Defenders is an innovative new show, bringing state of the art animation to the small screen in a new action-comedy series for kids worldwide."
