CHATTANOOGA/NEW YORK: Luken Communications, which owns U.S. broadcast stations such as Retro TV Network, and Classic Media have created an all-new channel, PBJ, which showcases the best of television from the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.

The service, set to launch nationwide the summer, will air 24 hours a day. PBJ will feature titles from Classic’s catalogue, such as The Archie’s, Mr. Magoo, The Lone Ranger, Gumby, Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids. Luken will make the channel available to broadcasters, cable and satellite.

“We’re thrilled to work with Classic Media to bring back the very enduring and extremely popular animated and live-action shows from the past five decades, just like it was yesterday,” said Neal Ardman, RTV Network principal.

Doug Schwalbe, the executive VP of production and program sales at Classic Media, added, “We’re all just as excited about watching PBJ today as we were watching these shows growing up. Now, our favorite characters and episodes will be available anytime!”
