CJ E&M to Rep DreamWorks Merchandise in Korea

SEOUL: CJ E&M has inked a deal with DreamWorks Animation to represent the company's character products through various distribution channels of CJ Group in Korea.

Under the agreement, CJ E&M will market DreamWorks' character products via the TV home shopping channel CJ O Shopping, as well as the health and beauty retailer Olive Young, which is meant for young adult consumers. CJ E&M has already released DreamWorks licensed apparel through CJ O Shopping's Celeb Shop, and it was featured on OnStyle's Korea's Next Top Model. A DreamWorks beauty line kit, which includes Shrek-themed facial masks, is available for purchase at Olive Young.

Ji-Soo Han, the head of the animation business division at CJ E&M, commented: "We are creating significant synergy effects through our arrangement with DreamWorks. We plan to enhance the brand's competitiveness and increase business profitability by customizing DreamWorks' character products to meet the needs of Korean consumers."
