Cinevest Highlights Slate for Cannes

NEW YORK: Cinevest Interactive is returning to MIPCOM under the leadership of Arthur Schweitzer, who rejoined the company in April after having left to join Reed Midem, serving as senior VP.

The Cinevest animated slate includes The Little Red Coat, for 4- to 7-year-olds, offered in both English and Portuguese. The Light House Alien…Exchange is a sci-fi series for the 7-to-11 set, also available in English and Portuguese. Itty Bitty Heartbeats is a music series for 2- to 6-year-olds.

Documentaries in the catalogue include The Extraordinary Journey of Fernando Bujones, about the career of one of the top dancers in the American Ballet Theater, and The Iran Opera, chronicling the performance of the Peking Opera in Tehran, Iran.

Also on offer is the completed features Mango Tango, a romantic comedy; The Invisible Life of Thomas Lynch, starring James Stenulis and Christiane Siedel; and Cupidity, a comedy about a man who seeks to find out why his romantic endeavors end in failure. There are also two films in preproduction: Sam, a romantic comedy, and Digger, a 3-D thriller.

Angry Across America is a reality series, and there are some 20 films from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s in the catalogue as well, spanning family, action, science fiction and horror.

“Cinevest has entered into new production partnerships and distribution deals with some of Hollywood’s top talent and with outstanding new writers and producers to create edgy new programming and movies that entertain and inform audiences on all platforms and deliver the message for advertisers through innovative content,” said Schweitzer.
