Cinepool Presents AFM Market Premieres

MUNICH: Cinepool, the international film sales division of Telepool, will be on hand at the AFM showcasing a range of market premieres and exclusive screenings.

Making its market premiere is Within the Whirlwind, a drama based on the autobiography of Russian poet Evgenia Ginzburg. The Door, from Wüste Filmproduktion together with Senator Filmproduktion, is an adaptation of Turkish-German author Akif Pirinçci’s bestselling novel Die Damalstür. The teamworx/RTL-coproduction Volcano is an event movie about what a volcanic eruption in the middle of Germany would do to people and nature. In the sci-fi thriller Cargo, a young doctor finds herself as the only person awake aboard a rundown space freighter, while the rest of the crew lies frozen. Also making its market premiere is Gravity, a drama about a bank employee whose life if turned upside down when a desperate customer shoots himself in front of him.

Further films that will have their market debut in the Cinepool catalogue are Gangs, which tells of growing up in the big city; Will You Marry Us?, a romantic comedy from Swiss director and author Micha Lewinsky; and Write Me: Postcards to Copacabana, from Bavarian director Thomas Kronthaler.

Cinepool will also be screening Lilly the Witch: The Dragon and the Magic Book, which follows on a successful series of children’s books as well as a TV property. From Collina Filmproduktion comes Lippel’s Dream, a family entertainment film shot in Bavaria and Morocco. There will also be promotional screenings of When We Leave, which tells the story of a Turkish-German woman who tries to escape the traditional and religious constraints of her family, and Thor: The Edda Chronicles, a CGI-animated family entertainment film.
