Cinepool Makes Deals at Marché du Film

MUNICH: A number of deals have been secured by Cinepool at Marché du Film in Cannes from its lineup of family entertainment, animation, drama and romantic comedy titles.

The sequel to the box-office hit Niko & the Way of the Stars, Niko 2, notched up sales. The stereo 3D animation was sold into France (Bac Film), BeNeLux (Just Bridge), CIS/Russia (Paradise), Poland (Kino Swiat), China (HGC Entertainment), Indonesia (PT Media Bermutu) and Bulgaria (Pro Film). The futuristic title The Days to Come was sold into the U.S. (Corinth) as well as Australia (Accent Film). Cinepool also launched the brand-new 3D animation Legends of Valhalla: Thor, which landed further deals in Israel (Five Stars) and Bulgaria (Pro Film).

Other titles from the Cinepool slate that stirred up interest were Yoko and the World War II family saga Wunderkinder. Both were signed to China (HGC Entertainment), with Yoko also going to Indonesia (PT Media Bermutu), while talks are ongoing for other territories.

The hit box-office sequel Lilly the Witch 2: The Journey to Mandolan was picked up for CIS/Russia (Luxor), while Hanni & Nanni is set for Chinese screens through HGC Entertainment, along with the comic drama Three Quarter Moon and Color of the Ocean. The romantic comedy Single By Contract scored deals in Indonesia (PT Media Bermutu) and China (HGC Entertainment). The Swiss production Bold Heroes was sold into Iran (Irib). When We Leave is headed to Bulgaria (Pro Film).
