CHUM Joins Joost

TORONTO, March 7: CHUM Television will deliver content from
its MuchMusic, SPACE and FashionTelevision channels to the new broadband
content platform Joost.

“CHUM has always been on the front lines of the
multiplatform experience,” said Roma Khanna, the SVP of content at CHUM
Television. “So it makes perfect sense for us to partner with Joost, since
their platform is all about engaging audiences and enhancing television
viewing. We’re happy to be on the ground floor with Joost.”

Yvette Alberdingkthijm, the executive VP of content strategy
and acquisition for Joost, added: “CHUM, and in particular MuchMusic, offers
content that will have great appeal to our anticipated audience. For artists
and labels, Joost provides an opportunity for fans to interact with artists
like never before. This kind of enhanced experience is the essence of Joost.”

The majority of CHUM content on Joost comes from the music
and pop culture station MuchMusic, including Live@Much, Intimate & Interactive, the MuchMusic Video Awards, MuchOnDemand, Music Is My Life and
MuchAdrenaline
, among others. The sci-fi
channel SPACE is offering segments from shows HypaToyz, an up-close look at collectible toys; and
From the Basement
, which profiles the
obsessions of a memorable cast of memorabilia collectors. FashionTelevision content
includes full-length episodes featuring leading designers and high-profile
shows. Joost users will also be able to watch the popular daytime lifestyle
show CityLine, starring Marilyn
Denis.
