Chorion’s The Mr. Men Show In New Publishing Tie-In

NEW YORK, September 15:
Chorion, Penguin Group and Egmont have teamed up for a new publishing
initiative to support the hit series The Mr. Men Show, which is based on the 1970s bestselling books by
Roger Hargreaves.

The original Mr. Men
and Little Miss
book series has
sold more than 100 million copies worldwide. The Mr. Men Show series debuted earlier this year on Cartoon Network
in the U.S., Five’s Milkshake! in
the U.K. and most recently on France 5 and Australia’s ABC.

The Penguin Group has the
worldwide English-language publishing rights to Mr. Men and Little Miss and The Mr. Men Show, and will collaborate with Egmont to develop a
comprehensive TV tie-in publishing program. Both publishing houses will offer
the classic and TV tie-in book ranges. The new books will launch in spring 2009
with a line that includes 8x8s, readers, sticker stories and other formats.

Don Weisberg, the
president of Penguin Young Readers Group (USA), said: “Mr. Men and Little Miss is one of Penguin’s core publishing properties and
we are enthusiastic about expanding Mr. Men and Little Miss into new formats and reaching new audiences.”

David Riley, the director
of Egmont Publishing, added, “We are delighted to announce this exciting new publishing
program for 2009. We feel sure that the new TV tie-ins will enhance the
magnificent tradition of Mr. Men
and Little Miss long into the
21st century.”

The Mr. Men Show has successfully maintained the spirit of the
original books while simultaneously re-imagining the brand for today’s
audiences,” commented Alison Faulkner, Chorion’s worldwide publishing manager.
“The introduction of these new TV tie-in books will offer a new way for fans to
enjoy this beloved franchise.”
