OXFORD: Novel Entertainment, behind such hits as Horrid Henry, Fimbles and Ping & Pong, has appointed Kelly Henwood as children’s brand manager.

Henwood will lead the future development of Novel’s children’s TV properties. She is responsible for coordinating a range of brand partners across a variety of product areas. She will also work to initiate marketing campaigns and cross-promotional strategies. Henwood will work closely with Novel’s licensing agency, Copyright Promotions, and international distributors. Another focus will be to consolidate and expand the brands’ online presence.

Most recently, Henwood was the licensing and marketing manager at Oxford Limited, a subsidiary of the University of Oxford.

Mike Watts, co-founder of Novel Entertainment, commented: “Novel’s brand activity has increased significantly and Kelly’s appointment comes at exactly the right time to help grow our business further. We are very much looking forward to her joining the company.”

Henwood added: “I am thrilled to have joined Novel Entertainment, and to have the opportunity to work with this innovative team. It will be a pleasure to develop and take to the next level such popular and thriving brands in this dynamic sector. I look forward to being an integral part of Novel Entertainment’s forward thinking, bright future.”
