Channel 4 Picks Up New Disney-ABC, Warner Titles

LONDON, June 14: Channel 4 has picked up the rights to two
new fall season dramas from Disney-ABC International Television, Dirty Sexy
Money
and Reaper, as well as Warner Bros. International Television’s The
Big Bang Theory.

Dirty Sexy Money for
ABC stars Six Feet Under’s Peter
Krause as idealistic lawyer Nick George, who is pulled into the dubious
activities of an absurdly wealthy New York family after he agrees to take over
as their personal lawyer—a
job previously held by his father, who died under mysterious circumstances. The
cast also includes Donald Sutherland and William Baldwin. The supernatural
dramedy Reaper for The
CW is
about a young slacker who, when he turns 21,
discovers that he sold his soul to the devil before he was even born. Satan
himself drops by to personally explain that Sam must now serve as his bounty
hunter, tracking down evil souls that have escaped and returning them to Hell. Both are set to air in the U.K.
on Channel 4 and E4 in 2008.

From
WBITV, meanwhile, Channel 4 took the new comedy The Big Bang Theory, set to air on CBS. From Chuck
Lorre, the co-creator and executive producer of Two and a Half Men, the series is about two
brilliant theoretical physicists whose lives are changed when a free-spirited
beauty moves in next door. In addition, as part of the WBITV deal, both Channel
4 and E4 will hold the rights to broadcast the next two seasons of One Tree
Hill
, and More4
will continue to hold the exclusive rights to The Closer.
