Change in FRAPA’s Management

COLOGNE,
September 22: FRAPA, the Format Recognition and Protection Association, today
announced that its present chairman, David Lyle, is stepping down and is being
replaced by Ute Biernat, who has previously held the position of FRAPA Board
member.

At
the same time, three new senior Board Members have been appointed: Mike Beale,
the deputy managing director of 12 Yard Productions; Jacob Houlind, the Nordic
GM and TV director for Nordisk Film and TV Production and Chris Grant, the
senior VP of international distribution and creative affairs at Reveille
Productions.

“After
six years from foundation to now I think it is time for someone new at the helm
of the association,” says David Lyle, the COO and GM of Fox Reality. “Now, more
than ever, with the digital exploitation of formats, the rights need extra
protection and I think Ute has the energy and dedication to lead FRAPA to new
levels of involvement”.

"There is no
worldwide copyright law everybody can rely on,” adds Ute Biernat, the CEO of
Grundy Light Entertainment. “Therefore FRAPA has become a vital association to
register and protect formats around the world. I believe that we can achieve
even more to support the format business and prepare it for the challenges of
the future.”

The new board members,
Grant, Houlind and Beale, will join the present board consisting of Michel
Rodrigue, the CEO and president of Distraction; Paul Gilbert, the VP of
international program development and format sales at Sony Pictures Television
International; Alison Rayson, the CEO of Target Entertainment; Robert Chua, the
CEO of Robert Chua Production House Company; Virginia Mousler, the CEO of The
Wit; and Roland Willaert, a consultant at D&D Productions.

The new expanded board
will meet for the first time at MIPCOM on Wednesday October 11.
