LONDON: More than 400 half-hours of Nickelodeon content have been licensed to broadcasters in Kazakhstan, Albania and Slovenia by MTV Networks International.

KTK, Kazakhstan’s leading free-to-air broadcaster, has licensed 263 half-hour episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants, The Penguins of Madagascar, Danny Phantom and Fairly Odd Parents. In Albania, digital satellite and digital terrestrial platform Digit-Alb acquired 150 half-hours of live-action content with iCarly, True Jackson, VP and Big Time Rush. And in Slovenia, iCarly is due to roll out on free-to-air broadcaster TV3.

Caroline Beaton, senior VP of international program sales at MTVNI, commented: “After a very productive and positive DISCOP EAST this year, we’re really excited to announce these deals in Kazakhstan, Slovenia and Albania. The emerging markets region continues to be a key focus for MTVNI as we look to further grow our Nickelodeon brand presence and satisfy the demand for our internationally renowned animated and live action content across the region."

Alex Chien, VP of content at Nickelodeon for MTVNI’s emerging markets group, added, “Nickelodeon continues to grow from strength to strength and these deals will greatly augment and complement our existing portfolio of localized Nickelodeon services. One of our top priorities is to build multiple access points for consumers both on-air—through the launch of new localized channels or through programming partnerships with leading broadcasters such as KTK, Digit-Alb and TV3—and off-air, through ancillary businesses such as consumer products, digital media and events, to ensure we create the ultimate 360 degree experience for kids and families the world over."
