CCI’s Erky Perky Notches Up New Sales

TORONTO: A string of new international broadcasters have signed on for CCI Entertainment’s 3-D animated series Erky Perky.

The series has just been sold to Pop TV in the U.K., SVT Sweden, NRK Norway, TRT Turkey, M-Net South Africa and Spain’s TV3 Catalunya. The 78×11-minute series already airs in more than 120 countries, including Canada, the U.S., Australia, Ireland, Denmark, France and throughout Asia. Targeting kids 7 to 11, the Canadian-Australian co-production is based around two bug buddies, Erky and Perky, who are hungry little insects and crumb connoisseurs. Erky and Perky might be great friends but they never seem to be in sync.

Arnie Zipursky, the CEO of CCI, said, “The series seems to be answering the call of many of our broadcast partners as there is a strong need for comedy in the 7-to-11 demographic. Also, the quality of the animation combined with the fact that there are now 78 episodes makes it even more appealing.”

Matthew Street, the show’s executive producer, added, “Strong ratings for series three coupled with the high volume of traffic to the new website in Australia shows that the Erky Perky brand is really resonating with our target audience and it’s terrific to see so many broadcasters appreciating the unique style and humor of the series.”
