CBSSI Appoints Warner Bros. Alum for EMEA Legal & Business Affairs

CBS Studios International (CBSSI) has hired Warner Bros. alum Nick Macrae as senior VP of legal and business affairs for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In his new position, Macrae will work out of Amsterdam under Javier Avitia, CBSSI’s executive VP of legal and business affairs. He will manage the legal and business affairs for CBS in the region, guiding CBSSI’s business and legal strategies that support distribution and programming operations, as well as advising the company on regulatory issues. He will also collaborate with senior management on negotiating, drafting and reviewing various deals for the licensing of CBS, Showtime and The CW programming across EMEA.

CBS’s team of lawyers and contract administrators in Amsterdam will report to Macrae, who previously held a number of senior legal positions at Warner Bros. He most recently served as senior VP of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group, where he led a team and oversaw business and legal affairs for the division across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“Nick is a seasoned studio veteran, with nearly two decades of experience and a stellar reputation in the business,” said Avitia. “Our clients know and respect Nick for his integrity and professionalism. As an added benefit, Nick has significant experience dealing with the European Commission in Brussels. We are very fortunate to have Nick as part of our team.”
