CBS Soap Celebrates 20 Years

LOS ANGELES, March 14: The
popular CBS daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful celebrates 20 years on the air on March 23.

Created by the late William J.
Bell and his wife, Lee Phillip Bell, The Bold and the Beautiful has garnered 35 Daytime Emmy Awards, and is also the
first daytime drama to simulcast in Spanish via SAP (Secondary Audio Program)
technology. The show is the most watched daily dramatic serial in the world,
viewed in more than 140 countries. It is currently written and executive
produced by William and Lee's son, Bradley, and still features four original
cast members who remain integral parts of the story structure: Susan Flannery
(Stephanie Forrester), Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan), John McCook (Eric
Forrester) and Ronn Moss (Ridge Forrester).

The show recently went on
location to Sydney, Australia, to tape scenes that are scheduled for broadcast
beginning March 22, to coincide with the series' anniversary. The 20th
anniversary story lines will center on Brooke and Ridge's stormy relationship,
young Phoebe (Mackenzie Mauzy) and Rick's (Kyle Lowder) forbidden romance,
Taylor (Hunter Tylo) and Nick's (Jack Wagner) newfound love, and the
competition between fashion houses Forrester Creations and Forrester Originals
for control of the industry.

"The Bold and the
Beautiful’s
unique combination of deep
romance and brash story telling has made it a signature part of the CBS Daytime
lineup," said Barbara Bloom, the SVP of daytime programs at CBS. "We
salute the Bell family and the extraordinary cast and crew on achieving this milestone."
