CASBAA Presents Keynote Speaker Lineup

HONG
KONG, June 17: Disney’s Anne
Sweeney will deliver a keynote speech at this year’s Cable & Satellite
Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) conference, with additional
headlining speakers to include BBC Worldwide’s Darren
Childs and NDS’s Abe Peled.

Sweeney
is the co-chair of Disney Media Networks and the president of Disney-ABC
Television Group. Childs is the managing director of global channels at BBC
Worldwide, and Peled is the chairman of NDS.

The
15th annual CASBAA Convention 2008 is set to take place in Hong Kong from
October 28 to 30. This year’s theme is “Subscribe to the Future—All Eyes
are on Asia.” The convention offers panel discussions and presentations
covering industry topics such as the pay-TV strategies in China following the
Olympic Games, the new-media generation, the future of mobile TV, digital-media
solutions, content development, the pay-TV regulation in the region and the
examination of the pay-TV markets in India and Korea.

A
brand-new program will also be added to the schedule this year: “The Future of
Pay-TV Advertising Workshop.” It will be an interactive forum for
decision-making executives to analyze how the pay-TV industry has impacted the
advertising business.

headline this year’s convention,” said Marcel Fenez, the chairman of CASBAA.
“The event will be hosted in a state-of-the-art venue, providing an
unprecedented experience for our participants and an ideal annual meeting place
for our industry in the Asia Pacific.”

CASBAA Convention 2008 will be presented by InvestHK and supported by sponsors
