Cartoon Network/Boomerang Exec Joins Jetix

AMSTERDAM/LONDON, January
16: Jetix Europe has tapped Cartoon Network and Boomerang U.S. executive Marc
Buhaj as its new senior VP of programming, succeeding Michael Lekes, who left
the channel last year.

Buhaj will join Jetix
Europe on April 2. He has been VP of programming and scheduling at Cartoon
Network and Boomerang in the U.S. since September 2004, where he directed all
aspects of programming for both networks including scheduling, on-air event
planning, program operations and most recently, acquisitions and
co-productions. He previously worked as executive director of programming and
acquisitions for Turner Entertainment Networks Asia (TENA) in Hong Kong, where
he led scheduling, commissioning and acquisitions for all Cartoon Network,
Boomerang and Pogo feeds in Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining Turner
Broadcasting’s Sydney office in March 2001, he worked for the Seven Network
Australia.

Buhaj will report to Jetix
Europe’s CEO, Paul Taylor, and will oversee all aspects of Jetix Europe’s
content, including production, development, acquisitions, scheduling, on-air
promotions, multimedia programming and administration.
