Cartoon Network Greenlights Original Comedies

ATLANTA: Cartoon Network has given the go-ahead for two new original animated comedies, Regular Show and Horrorbots, in addition to picking up further episodes of The Marvelous MisAdventures of Flapjack and more scripts for Adventure Time

Regular Show tells the story of two bored groundskeepers—a 6-foot-tall blue jay and a hyperactive raccoon—who try to entertain themselves by any means necessary. Their everyday pursuits often lead to things spiraling out of control, as they open portals to other dimensions. Horrorbots centers on two teenage droids who are slightly less horrific than the robots of the planet they populate. Armed with a desire to fit in, the two face their greatest challenge yet: high school.

Cartoon Network Studios will also be producing new episodes of The Marvelous MisAdventures of Flapjack, bringing the total number of half-hour episodes to 46. The comedy follows an impressionable young boy and his two advice-giving best friends. An additional season of scripts has been commissioned for Adventure Time, an animated comedy about a human boy and wise dog who are partners in strange adventures.
