Cartoon Network Asia Launches Initiative to Find New Talent

HONG KONG, October 31: Cartoon Network Asia has launched
SNAPTOONS (Short New Asia Pacific Cartoons), an initiative that seeks to find
new creative talent in the region.

With SNAPTOONS, Cartoon Network is looking to find fresh
ideas that can be developed into animated series for the regional feed, and
possibly for its sister networks around the world. Cartoon Network is inviting
members of the public to send in their pitches. Ten will be green-lit and each
will be developed into full pilot episodes. The commissioned ten will then have
their world premiere exclusively on Cartoon Network across the Asia Pacific.

Announcing the launch of SNAPTOONS, Orion Ross, the VP of
creative and original content for creative services at Turner Entertainment
Networks Asia, noted, “As one of the leading players in kids’ television in the
Asia-Pacific region, it is our responsibility to provide a platform for our
local talent to rightfully take a place on the global animation stage.
SNAPTOONS is a serious, ongoing initiative designed to connect, discover and
nurture creative brilliance that exists throughout Asia and will showcase the
enormous potential that abounds in the region. This initiative will forge a
relationship between that talent and Cartoon Network’s extensive global
production infrastructure to help develop the next generation of ground
breaking animation.”
