Cartoon Network Announces Live-Action Reality Special

ATLANTA, August 21: Extending
its Get Animated healthy lifestyles initiative, Cartoon Network has unveiled Props, a one-hour special that will give six select kids a
chance to spend time with their celebrity heroes, including tennis icons Venus
and Serena Williams and guitarist Johnny Land.

The one-hour special will
premiere September 1 at 7 p.m. The six finalists featured in Props were selected for exceptional talent, commitment and
accomplishment in sports, the arts or even a hobby. Hosted by Olympic Gold
Medalist Jonny Moseley, the program will feature the six kids meeting their
heroes. Kalani David from Hawaii gets a visit from skateboarder Bob Burnquist
and pro-surfer Andy Irons; Cole Cittrenbaum from California sits in on
guitarist Johnny Lang’s sound check; Elizabeth and Sarah Means from Washington
D.C. meet Venus and Serena Williams and are then invited to attend Billie Jean
King’s tennis camp; Nikko Turner from California gets to play one-on-one with
basketball star Baron Davis; Gunnar Boelman, also from California, receives a
full day of personal driving instruction from drag racing legend Jack Beckman;
and the Oregon-based band Still Pending has one of their songs produced by Paul
Palmer, producer of the multi-platinum High School Musical.
