Non-Linear U.K. Debut for New Season of Rescue Me

LONDON, October 7: Sony
Pictures Television International (SPTI) is set to premiere the fourth season
of the award-winning series Rescue Me on iTunes in the U.K. ahead of its TV launch.

In the lead up to the
debut of season four on November 7, iTunes U.K. will be releasing the first
three seasons of Rescue Me on
October 14, 21 and 28, respectively. This is the first time that SPTI will
premiere a new season of one of its shows outside the traditional TV
environment.

The series, which stars
Denis Leary, follows New York firefighters as they come to terms with the
aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the loss of their fallen comrades. Rescue
Me joins a number of other SPTI
drams on iTunes such as Damages,
Breaking Bad and The Tudors.

Danny Goldman, SPTI’s
senior VP of sales, said: “We
are pleased to add another great Sony show to the iTunes platform, marking a
new milestone in our digital distribution business. Our goal is to offer
viewers access to high-quality content across a variety of different platforms.”
