Cartel Entertainment has hired John Tomko, who was previously at Rain Management Group, and promoted Kate Brogden to manager.

At Rain Management Group, Tomko packaged, sold and produced The Perfect Date for Netflix. He also sold Sextuplet by client Mike Glock, starring Marlon Wayons, to Netflix, as well as packaged and sold the Roland Emmerich feature Midway. On the TV side, Tomko represents clients such as Deirdre Shaw (Jane the Virgin, Spinning Out), Hayes Jackson (Brew Buddies), Briana Belser (All Rise, Ginny & Georgia), Taylor Mallory (Mysterious Benedict Society, Shadowhunters), Meagan Daine (Games People Play) and Jay Gibson (Dynasty).

Brogden has been upped to manager, specializing in writers and artists in animation. Her roster of clients ranges from writers, directors, animators and board artists whose credits include BoJack Horseman, Tuca and Bertie, Fast and the Furious: Spy Racers and Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, and she recently sold her first project to Frederator Studios.

Stan Spry, co-CEO of Cartel Entertainment, said: “As Cartel Entertainment continues to expand its management and production business, John offers the company an opportunity to continue to grow our client list and production slate.”

He added, “In addition, Kate has proven herself as a dynamic representative and advocate for her clients, and we could not be more honored to promote her to manager.”
