CaribeVisión Unveils New Divisions

MIAMI/NEW YORK, May 7: U.S. Hispanic network CaribeVisión has launched two new divisions—advertising and programming—to be led by Emilio Nicolas, Jr. and Carlos Barba, respectively.

Nicolas has been named to the newly created position of president and CEO of advertising, effective immediately. In this role, Nicolas will be responsible for overseeing all national and local advertising sales and relationships with agencies and clients. A veteran in the broadcasting business for more than three decades, he has managed successful television stations in major markets around the U.S., including KDTV-TV San Francisco, WXTV-TV New York, KMEX-TV Los Angeles, KDTV-TV San Antonio and most recently KAZH-TV Houston. Earlier in his career, Nicolas was the director of program administration and special projects for Spanish International Network, now known as Univision.

Barba is now the president and CEO of programming, where he is charged with producing and acquiring programming, among other duties. He was previously the president and CEO of the network.

Our emphasis will be to identify specific needs of our clients and design comprehensive television advertising solutions that produce targeted and tangible results. CaribeVisión enjoys the rare added benefit of being owned by highly experienced and successful Spanish television programmers from Mexico and Spain.”

Barba added, “Emilio’s broad television and Madison Avenue media industry relationships and experience will be a tremendous asset to the growth of CaribeVisión a going-forward basis.”
