Canwest Preps Drama Pilots

TORONTO, November 4:
Canwest has unveiled the lineup of creative and on-screen talent for its slate
of drama pilots, including Shattered,
which will be directed by Prison Break's
Bobby Roth.

A Force Four
Films/Blueprint Film and Television production, the one-hour drama Shattered will be shot in British
Columbia. While Roth will serve as director, Callum Keith Rennie (Californication, Battlestar Galactica) will take on the lead role of an ex-cop with
a multiple personality disorder.

David Wellington (Would Be Kings, The Eleventh Hour) is set to direct Clean. The drama from House of Films and Four Seasons Productions
will be shot in Toronto. Ben Bass (The Eleventh
Hour
, Queer as Folk) is cast in
the lead, playing an addiction counselor, with Tom McCamus (Shake Hands with the Devil, Queer as Folk) confirmed as a series
regular. Sonja Bennet (Control Alt Delete)
also joins the cast.

Lawyers, Guns and Money, a Whizbang Films production, will feature Luke
Kirby (Tell Me You Love Me, Slings and Arrows) in the lead role as
an insurance adjuster. Clark Johnson (The
Wire
, Homicide: Life on the Street)
will play a retired cop, while Carole Cave (The
L Word
, Regenesis) plays a
company lawyer and Steve Bacic (The Guard)
is cast as a local gangster. Ken Girotti (Mayerthorpe,
Rescue Me) will direct the
production, which will be shot in Hamilton, Ontario.

From Prodigy Pictures, Lost Girl will be directed by John
Fawcett (The Border, Ginger Snaps), with the cast to be
announced.

"Great scripts

actors who have come on board to these exciting new projects," said
Christine Shipton, Canwest's senior VP of dramatic and factual content.
