Canadians Lead International Digital Emmy Nominations

NEW YORK: The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has unveiled the nominees for this year’s International Digital Emmy Awards, with Canada leading with four nods and Kenya and Japan each scoring first-time mentions.

There are 12 nominees across three categories. Nominated for best digital program for children and young people are 15 from Sweden, Battlefront from the U.K., Shujaaz.fm from Kenya and SliDE from Australia. In the fiction arena are Endgame Interactive: Facebook Episode from Canada, The Great Crusade from Australia, Murdoch Mysteries: The Curse of the Lost Pharaohs from Canada and Temps Mort (Time Out) from Canada. The non-fiction nominees are Bar Code from Canada, Floods in Rio from Brazil, Live from the Clinic from the U.K. and NHK World TV Digital Disaster Coverage out of Japan.
