Canadian Treatment for SevenOne’s Clever!

MUNICH: A local version of the sciencetainment show Clever! is in the works in Canada, through a deal signed by SevenOne International.

The Canadian version of the hit format will air weekly on the pubcaster Télé Québec. The show will air in prime time under the title Génial! starting this fall. Génial! will be produced by Télé-Vision.

Caroline Kusser, the regional sales director for international format acquisitions at SevenOne International, said: “We are thrilled to see the Clever! way of teaching science entertainingly on TV enter North America. Thanks to its original concept, the show has been a worldwide bestseller. No doubt the French-Canadian version will continue the format’s international story of success.”

Mario Clément, the VP of creation and business development at Télé-Vision, added: “We are very happy to have obtained the French-Canadian production rights to Clever!
