Canadian Licensing Rep Named for Mr. Men and Little Miss

TORONTO: Nelvana Enterprises has reached a deal with Chorion to become the Canadian licensing agent for the Mr. Men and Little Miss brand, covering merchandise such as apparel and accessories, toys and novelty items, as well as live stage shows and character appearances.

The property is based on the classic 1970s book series by British author Roger Hargreaves. The Mr. Men Show features 25 characters such as Mr. Bump and Little Miss Sunshine, and uses a sketch-comedy format. The TV series has been sold in 18 territories worldwide and recently launched in Canada on YTV.

“Corus Entertainment will put our full weight behind the Mr. Men and Little Miss brand,” said Mark Northwood, the VP of worldwide licensing for Nelvana Enterprises. “This exciting TV series and consumer products property will benefit from the scale of Corus Entertainment in Canada, leveraging our proven expertise in merchandise licensing, live entertainment and the heft of our broadcast networks in Canada.”

"We are pleased to have the team at Nelvana Enterprises on board for the Mr. Men brand—they truly understand the breadth of the opportunity at hand," added Cheryl Gotthelf, the senior VP of global brand management for Chorion. "There a little bit of Mr. Men in everyone!"
