Canadian Broadcasters Team for Haiti Special

TORONTO: CBC Television, CTV and Global Television are collaborating on the production of Canada for Haiti, a one-hour, commercial-free special leading up to the MTV Networks’ Hope for Haiti telethon on January 22 at 7 p.m. 

Canada for Haiti will be hosted by Cheryl Hickey, Ben Mulroney and George Stroumboulopoulos, and will feature exclusive Canadian content that looks at the country’s close ties with Haiti in this time of need, along with performances from some of Canada’s top musicians. Donations accepted during the broadcast will go towards a coalition of Canadian NGOs, including Canadian Red Cross Society, Care Canada, Free the Children, Oxfam Canada, Oxfam Quebec, Plan Canada, Save the Children Canada, UNICEF Canada and World Vision Canada.

Following Canada for Haiti, CBC Television, CTV, Global Television, MTV, MuchMusic and National Geographic Channel will simulcast Hope for Haiti at 8 p.m.
