Canada Media Fund Boosts Investment in Interactive Projects

TORONTO: The Canada Media Fund (CMF) has invested C$11.5 million in 36 new interactive projects, which had been submitted in the second round of its Experimental Stream initiative.

The CMF is putting forth C$8.6 million to 17 projects in production, of which eight are games, four are websites, four are mobile apps and one is a software application. The average commitment to each projects is C$509,000.

An investment of C$1.9 million is dedicated to 13 projects in development. The average amount allocated to each is C$150,000. A total of C$960,000 is being invested in six projects for their marketing assistance.

Since the creation of its Experimental Stream in 2010, the Canada Media Fund has invested C$27 million in 81 innovative interactive projects.
