NORWALK: CABLEready has reached an exclusive pay-TV licensing agreement for its new original series Intersections with Viasat, which will launch the show in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.

The territories covered by CABLEready’s agreement with Viasat include Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary, among others.

The 13×30-minute series launched in the U.S. on Speed on July 21 and was the network’s highest rated prime-time show for the night. The two episodes that followed increased Speed’s time slot over the previous month’s lineup.

“We’re extremely proud to see our first home-grown series Intersections jump off to such a strong launch with the initial SPEED ratings successes and the Viasat deal,” said Sabrina Ayala, the VP of sales and marketing at CABLEready. She added, “Similar to shows with a focus on music and food, there is a nearly unlimited appeal to international audiences for programming about man’s exploits to go faster and faster, and because of this we expect the series to attract significant attention with broadcasters globally.”
