C4i Secures Rights to Celebrity Game Show

LONDON, July 10: Channel 4 International (C4i), part of the
Digital Rights Group, has completed a deal with British producer Open Mike
Productions to handle international distribution for the game show Celebrity
Ding Dong
, both as a finished program and a
format.

Available as a 6×30-minute finished series or as a format, Celebrity
Ding Dong
pits teams of celebrities against
members of the public during five rounds where both sides can win prizes. Teams
will either win a slice of the high life, such as a luxury vacation, or a piece
of reality, such as a dash around the local supermarket.

Celebrity Ding Dong
recently broadcast in the U.K. on Channel 4 and was commissioned for a second
season from Open Mike Productions, whose other credits include Lead
Balloon
, Live at the Apollo and That Peter Kay Thing.

Anne
Roder-Botbol, the senior sales and co-production executive at C4i, called the
show a “fantastic match with our existing programs and formats and can only
increase our reputation as the place to come to for top-level entertainment
programming. We are already in discussions with clients from a number of
territories who are interested in optioning the format, and expect to be able
to announce deals very shortly.”
