BWTVF Announces Canadian Content Creators Fellowship

TORONTO, March 7: The
Telefilm Canada Content Creators Fellowship Program will launch at the 29th
edition of the Banff World Television Festival (BWTVF), which takes place in
Alberta from June 8 to 11.

The deadline for entry
submissions is April 10. The Telefilm Canada Content Creators Fellowship
Program is aimed at new and emerging multiplatform content creators who wish to
develop their knowledge, increase their contacts and have the opportunity to
meet international players in the digital and television content business in a
facilitated environment.

The
fellowship includes free registration for the BWTVF and nextMEDIA 2008, as well
as a travel stipend and pre-arranged accommodation. Successful applicants will
have the opportunity to meet in small group settings with leaders in the fields
of creating, selling and marketing multiplatform content.

A
three-member jury will select the winners. Mark Greenspan, the director of
digital media for Achilles Media, will sit on the jury, as will one
representative from the Banff Television Festival Foundation and an industry
representative.

Tai, Telefilm Canada's director of the western region. “This initiative
demonstrates a firm commitment to developing emerging content creators and
helping them to connect with industry leaders.”

executive director of the BWTVF “Creating these kinds of opportunities for
Canadian talent continues to be a key objective for this festival.”
