BVITV, On Demand Group Sign Cable PPV Deal for Germany

LONDON/MUNICH, November
17: Buena Vista International Television [BVITV] has concluded a multi-year
pay-per-view licensing agreement with the On Demand Group, the pay-per-view
partner of cable operator Kabel Deutschland.

This pact, which was
announced by Tom Toumazis, the executive VP and managing director of BVITV
EMEA, and Tony Kelly, the CEO of On Demand
Group, will make available a range of current, upcoming and library movies to
Kabel Deutschland subscribers across Germany via its digital cable service
Select KINO.

Kabel Deutschland
subscribers will have access to a selection of feature films from Walt Disney
Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films, including the highly
successful Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. The films also include the The Guardian with Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher, and the Tim Allen comedy The
Shaggy Dog.

The deal was concluded by
Karen Wrankmore, BVITV EMEA’s senior sales executive of digital media; Carsten
Fink, the company’s VP for German-speaking Europe; and Kelly.

closely with the On Demand Group to bring Kabel Deutschland customers this
strong selection of content, including one powerhouse movie franchise, on such
a major local platform, and to help promote the legitimate enjoyment of filmed
entertainment across Germany,” says Toumazis.
