TORONTO: BuzzTaxi Communications has scored a number of broadcast deals across Europe from its factual-entertainment catalogue.

BuzzTaxi has sold the one-off documentary Science of the Soul, from Associated Producers, to Canal+ in Poland, the Axess Channel in Sweden, Nat Geo in Italy and the Spektrum Channel, which airs in Hungary and the Czech Republic.

In addition to Science of the Soul, Spektrum picked up several other Associated Producers’ titles including the second season of The Naked Archaeologist, Secrets of Christianity and Beasts of the Bible. Spektrum also nabbed Uakari: Secrets of the English Monkey from Gryphon Productions.

Canal+ also acquired Beasts of the Bible and Rude: Where Are Our Manners? from 90th Parallel Films.

In a separate deal, TFI’s Odysee Channel in France has acquired the license for Scopofile Films’ Shanghai Bride.

Natalie Vinet, co-president of BuzzTaxi, said: “European broadcasters are searching for new and interesting shows so they can keep delivering the high standards that their audiences demand. That’s where there is a natural alignment with BuzzTaxi’s portfolio of quality, independently produced shows, which hit the mark time and time again.”
