British Slot for Marvel’s Super Hero Squad

LONDON: Nickelodeon UK has picked up the rights to Marvel Animation’s new action series The Super Hero Squad Show for launch on NickToons.

Characters such as Captain America, Silver Surfer, Hulk, Wolverine and Iron Man team up to protect Super Hero City from VillainVille’s infamous criminals in this new series, which is set to air on Cartoon Network in the U.S.

Debbie MacDonald, the VP and programming director for Nickelodeon, noted: “The Super Hero Squad Show is an exciting new acquisition for NickToons, which will be a major highlight of 2010. We’re delighted to have such a brilliant animation series that will appeal to the super hero in us all.”

Eric Rollman, the president of Marvel Animation, added: “NickToons has been a great partner to Marvel and we look forward to extending our relationship into the U.K. with the launch of The Super Hero Squad Show, which we believe will quickly become a favorite of both new and loyal fans.”

Nicktoons in the U.S. launched another Marvel series, Wolverine and the X-Men, earlier this year.
