Brightcove Partners with European Social Network

HAMBURG: The online video platform Brightcove has entered a partnership to enable its users to distribute content on the German social-media network sevenload.

The partnership will introduce new monetization opportunities for Brightcove customers that are expanding their advertising inventory through distribution onto the sevenload network. The deal will allow an organization using the Brightcove platform to program and syndicate advertising-supported video content across the sevenload network. The integration also provides sevenload users with programming from Brightcove customers available for viewing and sharing.

“sevenload is one of the fastest growing social-media and online video destinations in Europe,” said Brightcove’s chairman and CEO, Jeremy Allaire. “In partnering with sevenload, we’re able to provide our media customers with expanded distribution opportunities that reach new audiences and help expand the inventory available to advertisers.”

Axel Schmiegelow, the CEO of sevenload, added: “We’re excited to partner with a leading online video platform like Brightcove as we continue to expand our global social media network. The partnership holds the potential of dramatically increasing the range of media publishers using sevenload and the amount of premium content available to our online community.”

The German sports web portal SPOX.com is the first Brightcove customer to take advantage of the partnership and distribute its exclusive sports video content from German sports leagues to sevenload users.

“In just a short time, the Brightcove platform has enabled us to deepen our audience engagement with our video content,” commented Manuel Lopez, SPOX Media’s CEO. “The integration with sevenload enables us to greatly increase the distribution of our content, as well as the size of our audience, while also introducing new monetization opportunities for our advertisers.”
