Breakthrough’s Captain Flamingo to Air on Jetix

TORONTO, September 12: The
Jetix programming block on Toon Disney will serve as the U.S. broadcast home
for Captain Flamingo, an
animated property from Breakthrough Animation aimed at kids aged 6 to 12.

Jetix has licensed all 52
half hours of the series, along with 44 minutes of additional Captain
Flamingo
content produced
especially for the Internet and the mobile platform, including story vignettes,
original songs and more.

Captain Flamingo features Milo Powell, who is armed with a backpack
full of joke store novelty items. He and his not-so-secret admirer sidekick,
Lizbeth, help navigate the tricky ins-and-outs of grown-up rules to save the
day as only Captain Flamingo can. The series was created by Heroic’s John May
and Suzanne Bolch, developed by Breakthrough Animation’s Kevin Gillis and
Atomic Cartoon’s Rob Davies and is a co-production between Breakthrough
Animation, Heroic Film Company, Atomic Cartoons and PASI Animation.

The Jetix U.S. licensing
agreement follows Breakthrough’s renewal of the series with Jetix Europe. Captain
Flamingo
has also been licensed to
YTV Canada, Nickelodeon Australia, ABC Australia, Nickelodeon Latin America and
VRAK TV.
