Breakthrough Makes CEE Sales

TORONTO: Breakthrough Entertainment has sold the factual-entertainment series Books Into Films to HBO Central Europe, while also securing deals on an additional 375 hours of programming across Eastern Europe.

Books Into Films looks at how certain literary works have been adapted into hit movies. The show will now air across HBO’s Eastern and Central European territories.

Further deals include David Rocco’s Dolce Vita heading to Fiesta TV in Bulgaria, CrackBerry’d: The Truth About Information Overload and Plastic Makes Perfect picked up by Czech TV and The Future Revealed and War of the Wheels going to Man TV of Russia. Battlefield Mysteries was scooped up for DVD distribution in the Czech Republic by CODI. The Re-Inventors was sold to Russia’s Man TV and Television Collection. In Slovakia, Slovak Television went for Streets of the World and Trevano Pictures picked up Combat Forces, Science of the Senses, Countdown to the Future, Future Revealed, Battlefield Mysteries, Innovation Nation and Future Medicine.

Breakthrough sold more than 100 hours of programming to Albania’s Imperial Distribution, including Plastic Makes Perfect, Less Than Kind, War of the Wheels, Science of the Senses, Think Big, Dino Dan, Fishtronaut, World Without US, Future Revealed and Countdown to the Future.
