Breakthrough, Buffalo Gal, Citytv Align for New Comedy Series

TORONTO, November 15:
Breakthrough Films & Television, Buffalo Gal Pictures and Citytv have begun
production in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 13 half-hour episodes of a new comedy
series titled Less Than Kind.

The series, set to debut
in fall of 2008, centers on a Jewish teenager who discovers that being
overweight and under his eccentric family’s thumb is going to make growing up a
challenging process. Cast credits include Jesse Camacho (12 and Holding, St.
Urban's Horseman
), Maury Chaykin (Entourage,
Stargate
), Wendel Meldrum (Seinfeld,
Due South
) and Benjamin Arthur.

Less Than Kind was created and scripted by Marvin Kaye and Chris
Shesgreen, and is produced by Ira Levy, Phyllis Laing, Peter Williamson and
award-winning actor and writer, Mark McKinney (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,
Saturday Night Live, Kids in the Hall
).
Shawn Alex Thompson will serve as director on the first few episodes.
Breakthrough Entertainment will distribute the series, which is an
Ontario/Manitoba co-production between Breakthrough Films & Television and
Buffalo Gal Pictures, in association with Rogers Communications’ Citytv.
