Breaking Bad Spin-Off to Stream on Netflix

BEVERLY HILLS: Netflix has scored the rights to stream Better Call Saul, an upcoming spin-off of Breaking Bad, exclusively to its members globally.

Across Europe and Latin America, Better Call Saul will begin streaming on Netflix shortly after its U.S. airing. In the U.S. and Canada, the complete first season will become available to Netflix members after the season finale on AMC.

Better Call Caul was co-created and executive produced by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan. It stars Bob Odenkirk, who played Walter White's attorney, Saul Goodman, in Breaking Bad. The new series tells the story of Saul before that point.

"Breaking Bad is widely recognized as one of the great TV experiences in this new golden age of television," said Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer. "It has also proven very popular with Netflix subscribers around the world. This spin-off promises to continue its tradition of powerful storytelling. We are proud to be in business with Sony Pictures Television to bring Saul Goodman to our subscribers around the world."

"Coming off of the overwhelming success of Breaking Bad, we're excited to continue our collaboration with Vince, as well as Peter Gould, and that fans around the world will be able to embrace Saul," added Steve Mosko, the president of Sony Pictures Television.
