Boardwalk Empire, Modern Family Score SAG Wins

LOS ANGELES: At last night’s Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, the cast of Boardwalk Empire was recognized for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series, while Modern Family took the same top honor on the comedy side.

Individual performance nods went out to Steve Buscemi for Boardwalk Empire and Julianna Margulies for The Good Wife for drama series. 30 Rock‘s Alec Baldwin took the male comedy win, while Betty White won on the female comedy end for Hot in Cleveland.

In the category for TV movie or mini-series, Al Pacino won for You Don’t Know Jack and Claire Danes won for Temple Grandin.

The cast of The King’s Speech scored the nod for ensemble performance in a motion picture. Colin Firth won for outstanding male performance for The King’s Speech as well. Natalie Portman took the SAG Award for female lead in Black Swan. Both supporting wins in the performance categories went to The Fighter, with Christian Bale and Melissa Leo taking home statuettes.

The SAG Awards also recognized stunt ensembles. Inception won for motion picture and True Blood for TV series.
