BitTorrent Launches Download Platform

SAN FRANCISCO, February 26: Peer-to-peer network BitTorrent
today officially launched its download platform that lets users rent or buy
titles from a slate of content providers, including the newest addition, MGM.

The BitTorrent Entertainment Network at BitTorrent.com
features downloadable content from 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, MTV
Networks, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and now MGM,
among others. Users will be able to rent movies for $2.99 or $3.99 each,
purchase television shows for $1.99 per episode, and publish and share user-generated
content.

The platform now has more than 35 partners, delivering 5,000
movies, TV shows, PC games and music content, as well as over 40 hours of
high-definition (HD) programming. Among the titles available are the features Superman
Returns and Mission: Impossible
III, the Academy Award-winning An
Inconvenient Truth, and TV fare such as 24, My Super Sweet Sixteen, South Park and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
