BigPond TV Launches on Telstra Mobile

SYDNEY, July 19: BigPond has launched a line-up of
made-for-mobile programs and several TV shows, including full streaming
episodes of South Park, on Telstra's
Next G network in Australia.

BigPond TV, available only on Telstra's Next G and 3G
mobiles, kicks off with on-demand access to more than 25 TV programs, including
the brand new Australian made-for-mobile shows Big 5 and Girl Friday. It will also provide access to BigPond's lineup of AFL, NRL and V8
Supercars shows and videos plus an exclusive 'behind-the-scenes' series from
Silverchair. The lineup also includes The Shield and Family Guy, among others. Furthermore, BigPond's partnership with Sony Pictures
Television International brings the new TV series Damages featuring Glenn Close, as well as Kidnapped, to the service. They will be available the day
after they complete their first screening on Australian free-to-air TV.
"The great thing about our full-length programs is that they will be
'chaptered', as consumers are familiar with on DVDs,” said Justin Milne,
BigPond Group’s managing director. “So if you just want to relive the finale of
a Rescue Me episode, it will be
as close as your Next G mobile.”

A deal with MTV Networks Australia, meanwhile, brings
full-length episodes of Comedy Central’s South Park, as
well as a selection of programs from Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., to BigPond TV.
MTV series such as Pimp My Ride, Jackass and Laguna Beach will also be available.

BigPond TV is the first Australian TV-on-mobile service to
offer multiple long-form programs, the first to offer DVD-style menus (to allow
for full length programs), the first non U.S.-service to offer full episodes of
South Park and the first to offer 'Catch
Up TV' with major U.S. shows.
